How long does a new home build take?

Should I renovate or knock down and rebuild?
It depends on the condition of your existing home, how much of it is worth keeping, and what your council allows on the site. A renovation can make sense if the existing structure is sound and you’re adding or reconfiguring space; a knock down rebuild often makes more sense when the existing home no longer suits the block or the cost of extensive structural work approaches the cost of starting fresh.
